So we all feel it in the air ---our economy going right down
the toilet. Well we have been trying to prepare in any way
we can. I have been stocking up on odd things for our food
storage and as a family we have been working on our wood
pile. You see when we built our home I wanted a pretty gas
fireplace with a mantel. Jim however thought it would be
much better to have a stove fire place.

Well we both came to an agreement. I got my mantel.
He got the stove. It has been great-- instead of a
huge gas bill from our fireplace we have a lower
propane bill because this sucker heats the whole house.
Plus if the power were ever to go out we could heat
the house and cook on it. (You can never be too prepared right?)
Every winter my kids think it is so fun to boil eggs on it
and in the process we found out that boiled eggs
are Anthony's favorite.
on. Jim brings home all the scrap hard wood from the
different steel companies. Jim cuts the hardwood while I
use the hatchet and cut some 2x4 into kindling (See my nice
bucket & crate of kindling) then the kids stack it.

YUM! Did he come up with the name himself?
That is so funny, his poison soup! Hey I'm pretty proud of your wood pile, awesome!
The poison soup is fantastic. I must say that I am impressed with how prepared you are getting...don't be alarmed when I show up on your door step with my three kids in the event of a disaster!
