The Fast and Furious had had a successful start with most of the local teams. It was time to sign up for the ASA Spring Classic tournament in Kaysville. We knew we would bump into some tougher teams. We weren't sure what to expect. We knew that all of the girls had improved and were hitting way better. This tournament would be the one to see if we could swim with the big fish. In our pool we had 2 tough teams Hot Shotz-Rogers and the Blast. We ended matching up with the Blast. Who had just beat Hot Shotz 3-0. Couldn't believe it we beat them 11-3. Brylee was on FIRE with her pitching. She was the talk of the tournament.
Little Reagan's team also played up in 12's. We made her wear her mask the whole time. She was at 3rd base and that is where the hardest hits are at.
Her team did well for being a bunch of 8,9, & 10 yr olds.
It was a long day of ball. Makoy is not afraid to use her wagon for nap time.
As the day progressed we played some average teams and then some really hard teams. They had to play the Xplosion---- they were some big girls and a little bit intimidating. As Jim watched them warm up he thought holy crap we are in trouble. They were crushing the ball.
Brylee amazed us once again with her pitching and the whole team with there hitting . We pulled it off with 6-3.
Their confidence was rising just a little. Next was the game we had been dreading. The Hot Shotz (#1 team in UT ) a team that is a franchise and they have an old Circut City building to practice in through the winter. Each of there players are MVP's. Their coach pretty much steals the best player off of whatever team he wants to create his own awesome team.
We couldn't believe our eyes. Brylee peaked and pitched her best game yet A NO HITTER! (against the best team no less)
The Coach Rob Rogers said in all his years this is the first time they have ever lost by a shut out. He asked Jim "so where did you pick up your pitcher?". "Jim replied " I didn't, I raised her". Rob said "wow you should be one proud dad!' That he was of Brylee and the whole team. We had to turn around and play them again for the Championship.
There was a little break before the Championship game. You can pretty much guess where they all ended up.
By the end this baby had had it. She couldn't even hold her head up. Her head was bobbing.
They had to play us twice because we had never lost and they beat us both times.
We ended the day with an amazing 2nd place. These girls are tough and out did themselves playing with the bigger fish in the sea.
