Surprise---Your not Forgotten!!

My Mom and I decided to throw Garrett a surprise party. He has mentioned a few times how because his Birthday is on January 6th --- that everyone forgets his birthday. It being right after Christmas and that nobody has any money left after the holidays. We didn't have much time we had decided on Monday and his Birthday was on Thursday. We were able to contact his friends through facebook . Amazingly enough everyone could come. A big thanks to Jim for being the Valet for the night he parked everyone's car around back by the barn.
Boy was he surprised. I told him that he could come out for dinner if he didn't have any other plans for his birthday and that my kids had a little surprise planned for him so to call before he headed out. (My kids are always doing funny things so he didn't even think twice). After everyone had arrived I waited and then I called him and said my kids were ready to hurry and come. He was at the gym and had decided to do another 25 min. cardio. At first we weren't sure if he was on to us because he saw my mom driving with a car load of balloons. She quickly called him and said it was for a Relief Society thing she was decorating for. ( He believed that as well)
We knew if he showed up in his sweats that he was clueless and if he was all dressed up he knew.
He was genuinely surprised!
We had a delicious dinner.
Coach Don, Nat and Kay came as well as his best friend Tyler and his wife Jill.
Ryan, Ashley, Kacy, and his girlfriend/friend Amber.

We then gave him some funny gag gifts. Kacy gave him this ginormous card with some Neutrogena tanning spray. He is always teasing Kacy to get a tan
My mom gave him this sign to wear. This is what Garrett says always and I mean ALL the time. (He claims it is because of coaching kids)

She also gave him a dictionary because he is constantly asking her how to spell things. Tyler & Jill gave him his own movie back that they had borrowed. There were a lot more funny gifts. It turned out to be a success! Hopefully he will know he is not forgotten and is loved!!
