Goodbye Binki -- Hello Sleep?

Makoy just loves her binki . I am sure you all have had those experiences when you can't find one and your child is crying and freaking out. Quickly everyone goes into find mode. Checking the crib, down behind it and in between the bumper pads, the cars, purses, diaper bags, church bags, couches and so on. We have even gotten to the point where Jim gives whomever finds one first $5.00. (that was up until we realized Brylee was stock piling them )
We decided that it was time to get rid of it --mostly because she was still not sleeping through the night and it was time to take away anything she was dependent upon and waking up for. We tried the same method we used with Anthony. We cut big holes in the nipple so it would collapse when she sucked on it and then I dipped it in vinegar and laid a couple out in random places for her to discover them. She picked one up and put it in her mouth and said "GROSS" she tried the 2nd one and said the same thing. She held on to them for a while and would keep trying the binkis out. After a bit she finally threw them in the garbage and said "BROKEN" .
She whimpered at her next nap for one but when I reminded her that they were gross and broken she quieted down. Too bad taking away the binki didn't work for making her sleep through the night. We have tried letting her cry for days, we have tried melitonin . She is one determined little spirit. Who knows what the magic answer is. If you do let me know please!

A sibling to sleep with? That worked for Gunnar, it took us 6 years to figure it out, but once I put Kourtney & him in a queen size bed together he finally started sleeping all night!
