a SaTuRdAy In CaStLe DaLe

I lived in Castle Dale til I was 16 and the OLD BRIDGE was one
of our favorites growing up. It was just up the road from our
house. We would roll our inner tubes up the road and we
would swim all day. The bridge used have big holes all over it.
Sometimes we were crazy enough to jump off the bridge
into the water. ( Not a very safe thing to do considering it was
a shallow river)

My kids were funny there wasn't very much water in the
river so the water looked really muddy and dirty. Reagan
said "mom you really swam here it looks like the kind of
water that has alligators in it".

The clouds were kind of cool a storm was blowing in.

Then we headed up to the CASTLE VALLEY PAGEANT.
If any of you have never been to it before you are really
missing out. It is the best one by far--way better than Manti's!
This pageant shows the trials of the pioneers that settled
the valley and if anything it reminds me of how blessed
I am and it left me wanting to be a better person.

Jim and the kids were looking out over the scenery while
I was saving seats. I was impressed with my long lense on
my camera. It made it possible to capture this.

They let you walk around the site before it starts, they have
wagon rides, homemade bread with sweet cream and apricot
jam, homemade icecream, games that the pioneer children
played and so much more.

This was cool they made rings for all of us out of horse shoe
nails.

They had all sizes even Jim got one.

Anthony too!

They loved the Teepee.

It was kind of a cold night and it rained on us a couple of times.
The kids only complained a little but in all I think they felt &
understood a pioneer's life a little better & realized how
blessed they really are. (and that as soon as it was over we
got to get into a car and turn on our seat heaters )

Ryan this picture is for you we are going to play "I SPY"

1.) I spy a little boy in a red hoodie
2.)I spy a black and white blanket
3.)I spy Laura Wilberg (hee hee!)

Until next time in 2010!

Sister Hone,
Great job with the pictures. Seeing the old bridge, the pageant and my ex girl friend Laura Wilberg has really got me excited to visit Castle Dale again. Laura Wilberg is looking better than ever. I knew I should have married her. What a babe!
I wish we could have gone. That looked like a blast!
love,
Brother Hone

I had no idea that Castledale had a pageant! It looks like a ton of fun. Maybe I will have to check that out some time! While I am glad you have good memories of Castledale, I am so so so so so glad you moved to Springville! What would I have done without you?
