THE SPEEDY SPANIARD

So a few months ago Jim said he was going to run the 10k
(Speedy Spaniard) race that was on the 24th of July. Now if
any of you know me I am a sprinter. But for some crazy
reason I told Jim I would run it with him since it is something
I had never done before. We started our training. It was really
hard for me I wanted to quit many times but I'm not a quitter and
so on we went. We always ran at night so sometimes it got pretty
late with all the summer activities. The latest we ran one night
was at 11:30 p.m. . I could have easily talked myself out of running
that night but Jim was so dedicated and he always gave me the
push I needed. Every time we ran I felt so bad for him because
he would get so far ahead and then he would back track to
make sure I was okay or right before the houses with the
crazy dogs! On the race day we woke up at 5:00 a.m.
(keeping in mind we still had our bad sleeping habits of
getting to bed at midnight) That whole night I had psycho dreams
and never really fell into the deep sleep I needed. I woke
up pretty nervous. So I asked Jim for a blessing it
seemed to help a lot. We then ate our power bars which
were completely discusting!

Jim's muscles look so yummy in this picture if I would have
been in front of him I would have taken him down in the trees
and bagged the race.

I did a lot better than I thought --I was able to full on sprint at
the very end of the race even after all the hills at the beginning
and I never walked once. Jim ran 6.2 miles in 52.54 min.
and I ran it 55.51 minutes .

It was a really good experience the fact that we set a goal
together and acomplished it was a great feeling. I love Jim
so much he always would build me up and push me along
right when I needed most.

I am so impressed! How did I not know you were doing this tremendous feat? I am cracking up at your "taking him down in the trees" comment. You are a mess! And I love you for it.
